Rural women often face heightened exposure to pesticides through agricultural work and household pest control, putting their health at risk.
A recent report by PANAP found that many women lack awareness about the impacts of pesticide use. Conducted in Bangladesh, India, Laos, and Vietnam, the study revealed that 80.37% of women farmers surveyed sprayed pesticide.
In addition, the study found pesticides such Cypermethrin, Chlorpyrifos, and Imidacloprid, which may increase breast cancer risk.
