Job Title: Youth in Agroecology Consultant
Contract: 4 months (with possibility of renewal subject to funding)
Hours: Part Time
PANAP works with a vibrant array of civil society and people’s organisations and movements in the Asia-Pacific region. With over 100 partners, including broad coalitions of farmers, rural women, agricultural workers and indigenous people that it actively builds and supports, PANAP is committed to the reduction of pesticide use, the promotion of agroecology, food sovereignty, gender justice and human rights. PANAP is part of an international network of working to replace the use of hazardous pesticides with ecologically sound and socially just alternatives.
The Role
We are looking for a passionate individual to handle the following tasks:
- Facilitate formation of a PANAP-led regional youth in agroecology platform and map existing youth-led or youth-focused initiatives, networks, and movements related to agroecology, food sovereignty, and climate justice in Asia Pacific
- Assist in the development of a youth declaration or platform manifesto focused on agroecology and climate change in the framework of food sovereignty
- Support the planning of a youth-driven advocacy and mobilisation campaign linked to agroecology and climate justice (e.g., during the 16 Days of Global Action or COP events)
- Help coordinate regular virtual meetings of the youth platform
Experience:
- At least 3–5 years experience in youth organising, movement-building, or campaign coordination
- Strong knowledge of agroecology, food sovereignty, climate justice, or rural development issues in Asia Pacific
- Experience working with grassroots youth or community-based networks
- Excellent facilitation, coordination, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and across time zones
- Fluency in English; additional regional languages are an asset
