Women’s Day was observed by the Tamil Nadu Dalit Women’s Movement (TNDWM) at the Old Bus Stand in Arakkonam, Ranipet district, Tamil Nadu, India. Uma welcomed the participants, and the meeting was presided over by Sauriyammal, President of TNDWM. Special invitees Silomonmani, Shanthi, Anbarasi, Kannagi, and Lakshmi attended and addressed the gathering.

During the meeting, participants called for greater political power for women, including 50% reservation in politics. They also demanded equal pay for equal work, measures to prevent violence against women, and land rights and distribution for women. Additional demands included increasing the 100-day employment scheme to 200 days and raising the daily wage to ₹600.
The participants raised slogans supporting these demands, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Poongodi.
