Building Collective Action for Healthier Communities: CPAM Training Highlights
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Organised by PAN Asia Pacific (PANAP), Community Pesticide Action Monitoring (CPAM) & Focus Group Discussion Training in Penang brought together participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, and Sri Lanka.

Day 1

It kicked off with shared expectations, an introduction to PANAP, and the basics of CPAM. The day also featured sessions on health impact body mapping, a fruitful presentation on health impacts and first aid by Dr. Vivien How, and a meaningful discussion on Women and Pesticides.

This is a strong start to a collaborative journey toward healthier communities and pesticide justice.

Day 2

The sessions covered the politics of pesticides, understanding pesticide labels, and a detailed walkthrough of the CPAM survey guideline & questionnaire. Participants then engaged in a hands-on CPAM survey exercise, followed by feedback sharing and a demonstration of data input using the CPAM web-based application.

Together, we aim to build knowledge, sharpen our skills, and strengthen our collective action for healthier communities!

Wrapping up on Day 3

The day featured sessions on FGD, hands-on exercises with partner feedback, and a practical presentation & demonstration on PPE use. The 3-day training concluded with planning for CPAM & FGD in each participating country, and closing remarks from Sarojeni Rengam, Executive Director of PANAP.

This is a strong finish to three days of learning, collaboration, and collective action.
