Toxins like pesticides abound in our environment, making us and especially our children, more vulnerable to disease—including infectious diseases. What are these toxins and how do we protect our children?

In celebration of World Environment Day, PAN Asia Pacific (PANAP) is hosting a webinar to discuss the following topics:

Impacts of Pesticides on Children’s Health & IQ

Speaker: Dr. Vivien How is a senior lecturer at the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her extensive research experience includes chemical health risk assessments among children in agricultural areas in Malaysia.

How to Boost the Immune System Naturally

Speaker: Dr. Romeo Quijano, chairperson of PAN Asia Pacific, is a toxicologist and retired professor of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. With decades of involvement with local and international public interest NGOs, he has documented the health and environmental effects of pesticides in various countries and led studies on drug utilization, toxic chemicals, and medicinal plants.

The webinar will be facilitated by Deeppa Ravindran, PANAP’s campaign coordinator.

PANAP is one of five regional centres of Pesticide Action Network, a global network dedicated to the elimination of harm upon humans and the environment by pesticide use. Its mission is to advance people’s rights, environmental health, and social justice.
