Women Rise Up
Rural women produce more than half of the world’s food as seed savers and land tillers, community leaders and family managers. Yet they remain marginalised.
Women are leading the transition away from chemical-intensive, corporate agriculture towards agroecology—a farmer-centred holistic approach to farming that upholds the principles of food sovereignty. These stories provide evidence of the successes of agroecology in upholding the rights and welfare of rural women, as well as in contributing to community resilience.
